The first published Winsome game, sold in a three-ring binder
Alternate Names: Colorado Rails
Railroad game set in 19th century Colorado features an unusual board construction mechanism, apparently patented: four sheets are joined each at one corner and rotated out to fully display. Crayons are used to draw narrow- and standard-gage track on the hex map. Income is acquired by contracting mines and by first entry into cities. Interaction is provided in the form of lawyers, whose injunctions can stop opponents from blasting their way through difficult mountain passes.
-Tracks to Telluride is the first Winsome Games publication, packaged in a three-ring binder.
-This binder version is the only game ever published using an iteration of John’s patented collapsible stiff game board mechanism.
-One year after its release, it was reprinted in a “cheaper” tube version, renamed to Colorado Rails. In a later clamshell edition, its title was changed back to Tracks to Telluride.
-As of 2023, this and Wabash Cannonball are the only Winsome titles to have been published in multiple editions with updated names, wherein the final edition reverted to the original title.
